I went to see Sascha Lobe speak on Tuesday night at MAD, as part of AIGA design talk extravaganza. He runs L2M3 in Germany. And he’s really hot. Once I got over that and started paying attention (lets be honest, I still haven’t gotten over it), it reminded me of the work I did with Base Madrid. WhatContinue reading “Concept, play, and the space between”

Almost my mom’s birthday
Since it’s almost my mom’s birthday, I’m posting this picture from the streets of Lisboa that I know she would have loved. She would be 65 this year on June 8th.
A window into my process
I didn’t intentionally take this photo, but when I was cleaning up my desktop just now I saw it and think it looks pretty interesting. It’s the poster I’m working on for the Times Square project.
True Challenge
During this time when I have one week to complete my thesis and two weeks to set up my exhibition, both of my Grandmas passed away. This quote from Mother Theresa reminds me that life will constantly challenge us, and test our strength. This is her advice: If you are kind, people may accuse youContinue reading “True Challenge”
What do Andy Warhol, The Band and Times Square have in common?
Not much. But I was listening to the Band today as I wrote this story about Andy Warhol and Edie Sedgwick: Andy Warhol moved the Factory to the sixth floor of 33 Union Square West in 1965, the same year he met Edie. An unusual building for it’s era, it still stands out on theContinue reading “What do Andy Warhol, The Band and Times Square have in common?”

Oh, my teacher did this.
Sooo, I was googling my teacher for Cross-Disciplinary studio next semester. She’s the only professor I haven’t met yet and I know she’s an architect so I looked to see what work she’s been doing. I found this great project that is really related to some of the work I’m doing. This is a projectContinue reading “Oh, my teacher did this.”
Inspiration I’ve ffffound
I wish they had more descriptions for all of the images on ffffound. I always want to know the designer and what they are for or about (and have the information be easily accessible).
Oh, right. Blogging.
Three projects in the works right now:1. Designer’s statement and process book (which would be more fun if I didn’t have less than a week to complete) 2. Visual interpretation of the wall street bombing of 1920 – I’ve found a way to tie my plexiglass idea in with a project that actually communicates something,Continue reading “Oh, right. Blogging.”
These threads they are so fragile
I just found this random photo I took last year for the texture phase of Type 1 with Tom Dolle. I didn’t use it in my book but now I find it oddly interesting. I was going through my color phase (now I’m going through a black and white phase) – is that symbolic ofContinue reading “These threads they are so fragile”
