Here is my gradient exercise using paper torn from magazines. Luckily I had some Philips de pury catalogs lying around and got some nice variations from colors in the featured artworks. The only problem I found are the difference in warm and cool colors, even when they are around the same value look very different.Continue reading “Gradient in Grey – Cut paper collage”

Touch of Grey
Our current assignment in class is to create four different gradation studies with tints of grey. I came across a beautiful blog today via the Flavorpill newsletter and found some images that are fully grayscale but that communicate so much. The site is Ilovethatphoto and here is one of the images with many different shadesContinue reading “Touch of Grey”

I think I’m trying to focus on too broad a topic and also creating a brandContinue reading “Focusing/Completely reworking the brand”
Ghostbusting
The dishonest and utterly diabolical practice of ghostwriting is widespread in most respected medical journals. It’s when the pharmaceutical company sponsors writers to publish bogus research on their products. Since the medical journals rely on the honor system to get disclosure on writer’s funding, we never find out that the study on that diet pillContinue reading “Ghostbusting”
Hmm tree power…
After checking in on the Kurzweil AI site regularly this past week, today a news item popped up that grabbed my attention: Electrical Circuit runs entirely off power in trees. This topic has a lot of potential. I should explain what I’m looking for – our semester long project is to create a brand platformContinue reading “Hmm tree power…”
Loyal to the Prius
The CARS program was a government-run solution to get polluting cars off the road by providing credit for the trade-in of ‘clunkers’ towards the purchase of smaller, more fuel-efficient vehicles. In Tim Brown of IDEO’s blog, he posts an image of a Toyota dealership inundated with ‘clunkers’. The majority of these inefficient, oversized vehicles areContinue reading “Loyal to the Prius”
